This example uses customer tags to separate Gold, Silver, and other members, and sets a different purchase limit for a single order. In this example, Guest is set to Cannot purchase. Setting Guest to Cannot purchase is not a required condition of the feature, and you can change it.
Use the Full plan. The store currency is Japanese yen (JPY). Set the gold or silver customer tag on the customers you want to target. Tag matching requires the customer to be logged in.
Amounts are evaluated on the item total of eligible items (before product discounts). Ineligible items are not included.

(1) Open a new rule
In the app admin, select Price limits → Price rules by customer group → Create rule. For Rule name, enter a name that makes the purpose clear, such as “Purchase limits by membership rank”.
(2) Add Gold and Silver
For Group condition, select Customer tags. From Add group, set gold for Gold and silver for Silver, and arrange them in that order.
(3) Set the limits for the 4 groups
Set Gold, Silver, and Member to Limit, and enter 30000, 20000, and 10000 respectively in Maximum amount. Leave Minimum amount blank. Set Guest to Cannot purchase.
(1) Choose the amount to check
For Price type, select Item total (before product discounts), and for Applicability, select Cart.
(2) Choose eligible items
Specify the products, collections, product tags, and so on that you want to limit. To make every product in the store eligible, select all products.
(3) Set the message, then save and enable
Set Message for the maximum amount to something such as “{{tierName}} customers must keep the eligible item total at {{maxPrice}} yen or less.” Check when it is displayed, save, and select Enable on the details page.
Using a test product that is not affected by other rules, confirm that you get the following results.

Even if this rule’s condition is met, the customer cannot purchase if another rule is violated. The maximum on the quantity field does not change with this setting, so confirm the check in the cart or at checkout.
