Translation & Multilingual Support

Explains how to translate product messages and alert messages into multiple languages.

Product messages and alert messages can be translated into various languages such as English and Chinese, not just Japanese. Use this feature when you want to display messages in your customers' language on a multilingual Shopify store.

  1. In the app, open the rule type you want to translate from the admin

  2. Select the rule from the rule list

  3. Click Localize in the upper right corner of the edit screen

  4. Select the target language from the dropdown

  5. Enter the translated product message and alert message

  6. Click Save

  • Only product messages and alert messages can be translated

  • Only languages published in Shopify admin's Languages settings are supported

  • Translation data must be configured individually for each rule

  • Translation data is not carried over when a rule is duplicated

The appropriate translated message is automatically displayed based on the customer's browser language or the store's language settings. If no translation has been set for that language, the default message is displayed.

Variables (such as {{maxQuantity}}) can be used as-is in translated messages.

To add supported languages, go to Shopify admin → Online StoreCountries/RegionsLanguages, and add and publish the language.
