Quantity Limits by Product lets you configure precise quantity restrictions by setting up each product and variant individually, one at a time.
It supports flexible controls such as per-variant individual settings and total quantity limits across variants. Because only one checkout rule is consumed regardless of how many products or variants are configured, it is well suited for stores with a wide variety of quantity restrictions.
Due to Shopify's specifications, a store can activate up to 25 checkout rules in total across quantity, price, weight, bundle, and customer rules combined. Standard product quantity rules consume one checkout rule per rule, which means quantity rules alone can use up all 25 slots.
With Quantity Limits by Product, only one checkout rule is consumed no matter how many products or variants are configured. The remaining 24 slots are available for other rule types such as price, weight, bundle, and customer rules, enabling a more flexible restriction setup.
For products with multiple variants, you can apply the same limit to all variants at once, or set different limits for each variant individually.

For products with multiple variants, you can set an upper limit on the total quantity across all variants combined. You can also exclude specific variants from the total calculation.
