Product quantity rules let you apply the same purchase quantity condition together to all products, collections, product tags, specific products, and more. You can choose the applicability from cart, product, or variant.
This is a good fit for stores with many products, or stores that want quantity limits to apply automatically to new products as well.
By specifying all products, collections, product tags, and so on as eligible items, you can apply the same minimum quantity, maximum quantity, and increment without setting each product individually.
By choosing the applicability, you can limit the total quantity across all variants of a product, the total quantity within the eligible collection, or the total quantity for the entire cart.
Tip: You can use this for limits such as "up to a total of 10 items within a collection" or "up to a total of 20 items for the entire cart."
A rule that targets all products, a collection, or a product tag also applies to products added later that meet the condition. You do not need to recreate the rule every time you add a product.

Product quantity rules are a good fit for applying the same condition together across a broad range, while quantity limits by product are a good fit for setting different conditions in detail for each product or variant.
Note: Due to a Shopify limit, you can enable up to a total of 25 checkout rules per store, including checkout rules enabled by other apps. Each enabled product quantity rule counts as 1, and quantity limits by product counts as 1 overall when enabled.
