(Use Case) Restrict Bundling with Selected Items

This is a configuration example for restricting eligible items so they cannot be bundled with specific selected items.

This guide assumes the app embed has already been enabled.

If you haven't enabled it yet, please refer to Initial Setup to enable it.

Use this when you want to prevent specific combinations of products from being purchased together — for example, supplements with conflicting ingredients, or products not recommended for simultaneous use. The eligible item itself can still be purchased on its own or with other products; only bundling with the selected items is blocked.

The following behavior applies based on the cart contents:

  • Eligible items only → Allowed

  • Eligible items + selected items (partner items) → Not allowed

  • Eligible items + any other product → Allowed

  • Selected items (partner items) only, or + any other product → Allowed (partner items are not restricted)

When “Cannot bundle with selected items” is selected, ③ Eligible items cannot target “All items.” Choose a collection, products, or a product tag instead.

  • Setting Bundle limit level to “Cannot bundle with selected items” means eligible items cannot be bundled with the items specified in ④ Items that cannot be bundled. They can still be freely bundled with any other product.

  • Only the eligible-item side is restricted — partner items are not restricted. The selected items can still be freely combined with any product other than the eligible items.

  • If there are specific products you want to allow as an exception to the “cannot bundle” condition, add them to ⑤ Excluded items to remove them from the rule's evaluation.
