This example prevents an eligible item from being bundled only with products specified as "Items that cannot be bundled." Use it when you want to avoid only specific combinations, such as supplements with conflicting ingredients. The eligible item can be freely bundled with any other product.
Prerequisite: The initial setup for bundle limits must be complete. If you haven't done this yet, see "Initial Setup (Bundle Limits)".
When the bundle rule is enabled, whenever the cart contains an eligible item, it checks whether any product matching "Items that cannot be bundled" is also in the cart.
Eligible item only: purchase is allowed.
Eligible item + a product specified as "Items that cannot be bundled": purchase is not allowed.
Eligible item + any other product: purchase is allowed.
Only products specified as "Items that cannot be bundled," or combinations with other products: purchase is allowed (the specified products themselves are not restricted).
Note: Items specified as "Excluded items" are treated as neither eligible items nor non-eligible items, and are not included in the bundle evaluation.
(1) Create a bundle rule
Open the app admin → "Bundle rules" → "Create rule".
(2) Enter the settings
Configure the following.

Note: For this bundle limit level, you cannot specify "All items" as the eligible items. Specify them using a specific collection, specific products, or products with a specific tag.
(3) Save and enable the bundle rule
After saving the settings, select "Enable." Saving alone does not apply the bundle limit.
(4) Check the behavior
Check the result when the cart is updated and at checkout, both with the eligible item and an "Items that cannot be bundled" product together in the cart, and with the eligible item and any other product.
To make an exception to the "Items that cannot be bundled" condition, specify that product as an "Excluded item." Excluded items are not included in the evaluation.
If you specify the same product as both an eligible item and in "Items that cannot be bundled," a warning is displayed. Duplicated products are treated as eligible items and are not counted as bundle partners.
Variables cannot be used in the product message or alert message for bundle rules.
