RuffRuff Order Limits

(Use Case) Require Purchase Together with a Specified Item

This is a configuration example for restricting eligible items so they can only be purchased together with a specified item.

This guide assumes the app embed has already been enabled.

If you haven't enabled it yet, please refer to Initial Setup to enable it.

Use this when you want to require an eligible item to always be purchased together with a specific product — for example, a snowboard bag that should only be sold together with a snowboard — without the workaround of excluding every other product from the rule. Unlike “With other products” (any other product will do), you can specify exactly which product is required.

The following behavior applies based on the cart contents:

  • Eligible items only → Not allowed

  • Eligible items + required item (partner item) → Allowed

  • Eligible items + required item + any other product → Allowed (other products may also be in the cart)

  • Eligible items + other products only (without the required item) → Not allowed

Field

Value

① Title

Enter any title

② Limit details > Bundle limit level

With specified items

③ Eligible items

Set the products you want to restrict (e.g. snowboard bag)

④ Required items

Set the required partner item (e.g. snowboard)

⑥ Product message

Enter any message

⑦ Alert message > Display timing

Fixed to Checkout only (cannot be changed)

⑦ Alert message > Message

Enter any message

When “With specified items” is selected, the alert message Display timing is automatically fixed to “Checkout only”. Displaying an error on the cart page is not supported.

When “With specified items” is selected, ③ Eligible items cannot target “All items.” Choose a collection, products, or a product tag instead.

  • Setting Bundle limit level to “With specified items” means eligible items can't be purchased unless the item specified in ④ is also in the cart.

  • Unlike “With other products,” you can specify exactly which product is required, so you don't need the workaround from “(Use Case) Require Purchase Together with a Specific Category” of excluding every other product.

  • The eligible item can still be bundled with any other product, as long as the required item is also present in the cart.

  • The required item itself is not restricted — it can be freely combined with any other product.

  • If you want to keep auto-added items such as gift wrapping out of the check, use ⑤ Excluded items.
