Price Type

Explains the differences between the four Price types used for restriction checks.

Price type determines up to which stage discounts, shipping, and tax are included when evaluating a price limit.

Cumulative price rules call this setting "Amount type." Only Item total (before product discounts) and Item total (after product discounts) can be selected, and the choice cannot be changed once tracking has started.

Note: In a price rule, selecting "Cart subtotal" or "Grand total" automatically sets Eligible items to "All items," Applicability to "Cart," and Display timing to "Checkout only."
