RuffRuff Order Limits

(Use Case) Restrict Access with a Password

This is a configuration example for restricting product page access to customers who know the password.

This is a configuration example for making the target product page visible only to customers who enter the correct password. Here, we use "Show custom screen," which displays a password entry form on the regular product URL.

Prerequisite: Select a pricing plan and enable the app embed in the theme that uses access limits. For instructions, see "Initial Setup (Access Limits)".

You can check the behavior with a demo product: [Demo] Password Access Restriction

Use this when you want to show the product page only to customers you have shared the password with, such as newsletter subscribers or event attendees.

(3) Save and enable the access rule

Save the settings, then select "Enable rules" in the access rules list or "Enable" on the edit screen.

(4) Check the behavior

Open the regular product URL with a new cart state, and check by entering the correct password and then an incorrect password.

After saving a new rule, the "Password Link" is shown. Customers who open the link can skip entering the password. For how the link works and how to change its destination, see the related article.

Note: If you select "Redirect to URL" as the restriction method, the password entry form is not shown. Share a password link with customers you want to allow access to.

Note: Access rules do not block purchases or provide complete content protection. Do not share the password or link publicly with an unspecified audience.
